Lapland UK Manchester Review 2026 | Is It Worth It?
Lapland UK tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday 27th March, for both the Manchester and Ascot events, and if you’re planning just one big festive experience this year, this might be the one to book.
But with ticket prices often reaching £300 or more for a family, the big question is simple. Is Lapland UK actually worth it?
We’d heard amazing things about Lapland UK at Ascot for years but had never quite been able to justify the price. It’s one of the most premium Christmas experiences in the UK, with the price tag to match.
When Lapland UK announced it was coming to Manchester for Christmas 2025, we decided it was finally time to see if it really lived up to the hype.
We booked our tickets back in March at £345.65 for two adults and one child for Friday 14 November.
Unfortunately that ended up being the day of a big storm in the area and the event was cancelled just as we arrived.
A few days later Lapland UK contacted us to say there was availability on Tuesday 18 November, and they kindly refunded the difference between the tickets. We were happy to be refunded £60, bringing our total down to £285.65.
Needless to say, we had one very excited Ollie when the day finally arrived. Ollie was 8 when we visited Lapland UK Manchester and it felt like the perfect age for the experience.

A Quick Note for Parents
Before we begin, this guide includes details about what happens during the Lapland UK experience.
If you’re planning to visit and want to keep the magic completely intact for your children, you might want to read this article without them looking over your shoulder.
We’ll avoid revealing too many surprises, but there are a few parts of the journey that are best discovered for the first time in person.

Our Visit to Lapland UK Manchester
After hearing so much about Lapland UK over the years, we were excited to finally experience the brand new Lapland UK Manchester event for ourselves.
The entire experience is designed as a magical journey where families help the elves prepare for Christmas. Over the course of around four to five hours, you move through different themed areas including the Whispering Wood, Elf Village, toy workshop, and Father Christmas’s cabin.
Each part of the experience builds the story, with elves guiding you from one stage of the adventure to the next.

The Whispering Wood
Our Lapland UK adventure began in the Whispering Wood, where we checked in and were assigned to the Reindeer tour, the other half of the group gets the Husky tour. Ollie was given his Lapland passport (you collect stamps throughout the experience) and a bag of jingles (one jingle = £1), officially marking him as one of the “small folk” chosen to help Father Christmas.
Before heading through, we had a short time to explore this woodland area and straight away, the attention to detail hits you. There’s festive merch, places to get food and drinks and little touches that made it feel like a real place rather than a waiting area. Even at this early stage, it already felt special and unlike any other Christmas event we had done before.
Top tip: Arrive Early, we didn’t have long enough to explore this area properly or grab any food or drinks and the tours start exactly on time so definitely don’t be late!

The Enchanted Forest
When our reindeer tour was called, the excitement from all the kids was brilliant, we’d never seen as many excited children in one place! We were led through to a gorgeous stage area where the scene was set for what was to come and you’re introduced to the main elves. With songs and grumpalump checks (pray you’re not the one chosen for that part!) complete it was time to head through to open the portal to Lapland. It was at this point that Ollie was chosen to be the child to carry Conker the elf’s case and look after it until it was needed!

The Portal to Lapland
With the elves guiding us, we entered another stunningly themed area with bench seating for a further show about how elves are born and how you enter Lapland. Everyone must join in to get the portal to open and it was so lovely seeing all the kids (and adults!) fully involved saying the magical words.
And just like that, the portal to Lapland opened. It’s a very impressive transition and the woods you enter are honestly magical with snow floating in the air!

Santa’s Toy Factory
This was one of the “wow” moments. We weren’t just watching (although the theatrical part of this section was our favourite bit with all the kids wishes visually coming to life), we were helping. Ollie’s important mission of delivering Conker’s case to the factory was at this moment and he was so proud and excited to stand up and hand it over to Conker! Inside the case? A heart for Bertie the polar bear to finish off making him!
Then each child gets a basket with polar bear parts and together, we helped build Bertie for all the kids that were on the nice list and sent him off on a conveyor belt to be wrapped ready for Christmas Day.
The Lapland Bakery
From Santas Toy Workshop we headed over to the Lapland Bakery to decorate our own gingerbread.
Each child gets their own boxed gingerbread to decorate and take home, complete with a recipe printed underneath. Even the adults get a small gingerbread cookie to eat while the kids get creative.
The bakery itself smells incredible and the elves guide everyone through the process while keeping the story flowing with a story from Mrs Claus. We got the story of Conker which Ollie loved as he had just helped him!
The Elven Village
Then we arrived at the Elven Village and honestly, this place blew us away.
A full festive village opens up in front of you, complete with:
- Ice skating
- Festive food stalls
- Shops and postal services
- Photo opportunities
- Libraries and sweet shops
You’re given a generous amount of free time here (there will be even more time given in 2026 with a brand new section, Fables library where the kids can listen to stories), and it really feels like a place to wander rather than rush. We explored everything, grabbed festive treats and just soaked it all in until the last possible moment.
The atmosphere here is everything. Warm lighting, snow dusted buildings, background music and elves moving about the village all make it feel like you really are in Lapland.
Meeting the Reindeer
Before meeting Father Christmas, we headed to the reindeer stables.
Seeing the reindeer up close, including Little Rudy, was another highlight. The elves explain how Santa prepares for Christmas Eve and you get to take a picture with his sleigh. For 2026 making reindeer mix to put out on Christmas Eve will be included with the ticket price (previously this has been an additional charge).
By this point, Ollie was pretty much bursting with excitement.
Meeting Father Christmas
Finally, the moment everyone waits for, meeting Father Christmas himself.
This wasn’t rushed. It wasn’t awkward. And it definitely wasn’t a quick photo and go.
We were welcomed into a cosy room, invited to sit down and Father Christmas took the time to chat properly. He knew about Ollie’s adventures, talked about roller coasters, bravery and even awarded him the Golden Bell, making him an honorary elf for the day.
Then came a surprise… an early present, personally given by Santa and a photo to capture the moment forever.

Is Lapland UK Manchester Worth It?
Is it expensive, yes it is for sure… but the joy this event brought all the kids there was priceless so in our opinion that makes it worth it.
We spent over five hours here, and not once did it feel rushed or repetitive. The storytelling, the pacing, the cast and the attention to detail exceeded even our high expectations.
This wasn’t just a Christmas attraction. It was a full experience, one that both kids and adults can completely lose themselves in.
We’d wanted to do Lapland UK for a long time, and it genuinely lived up to (and exceeded) the hype.
Lapland UK Manchester is one of the few Christmas experiences that feels really, really special. If you’re looking for a Christmas memory that your child will talk about for years, this is it.
We walked out with one extremely happy child and all of us having loved every second! We were completely blown away by this event and are seriously considering returning again this year, it was just SO GOOD and especially with the announcements of what’s new for 2026, it’s looking like it will be even more special!
